giving birth is like trading stocks - too many variables. The more you can master the sure things, the better prepared you are to deal with uncertainties.

I personally found it helpful, although I read a lot of books as well. I asked intelligent questions during delivery, worked well with my OB, and had an easy natural birth although my baby was born BIG.
