I knew a single mom

She's a chinese in the company I worked for. A real beauty, married once, then divorced, met baby's father, got the baby, but the guy never wanted to marry her. Her salary was moderate, but the benefit from the company was quite good. She bought a townhouse in a very good school district soon after she got the job before the housing boom, the price already at least tripled. Her parents have green card and stayed with her after the baby was born. And I don't feel she got discriminated being a single mom at the company. Some bad mouthed Women liked to gossip behind her, but men treated her just like normal female.
I think 3 things made her servive single momhood.
1) finacially she was fine.
2) have her parents at her side to help her.
3) She has a great sense of houmor. She never felt uncomfortbale talking about her baby (now already in elementary school), and never shamed of being a single mom.
If you're a personal who can go to a busy chinese restraunant on saturday night and been the only one there without company and doesn't care the strange look from the waiter, go for it.
You really need to be brave to do it alone!
