My daughter, when she was a baby, loved to play inside the playpen.
My son loves it too. He's 6 months and very playful.
We have put a futon mattress inside the playpen, with a play mat and lots of baby toys.
Play some baby video or nursery music as background noise so he stays content.
I don't feel pressed to cook a simple dinner, bake a pizza or hand make noodles, etc...
It's summer so dinner can be stretched to 6 or 7 pm. After 6 my husband and daughter come
back and play with the baby while I finish preparing food. Daylight saving time is nice.
Parents need to build trust with the baby, so he feels secured even without your constant presence.
