Oh well, if you co-sleep with the baby then you don't really need one. My baby sleeps by herself in her own room, the monitor has worked wonderfully for me. I had an audio monitor for my older one and I like the video one much much better. Being able to watch the baby before she falls asleep and after she wakes up or while she is sleeping is much more enjoyable than just listening to her. Any kind of monitor is useless for monitoring a toddler, there gotta be a human being attached with a walking and running toddler, you will see when your baby turns into a toddler.
