This is a project from my daughter's kindergarten year.
The project had two steps. The first one was to imitate Eric Carle's style to create an animal of your choice by using crayons, papers, cutting and pasting, and then the second was to write a story about the chosen animal.
My daughter picked horse. Here it is.
And below is what she wrote to go with the illustration.
Once upon a time, a horse went with her father and mother in the wild where her horse friend was. At night, at her friend's house, she sneaked out of her friend's house. She wanted to be wild and freed! But at night, predators in the wild are on the prowl. The horse must be careful and she did, until it was day. She was very happy but she knew she wouldn't be safe, so she returned.
