long answer

i just came back from oversea.  We took cathay pacific airline.  I bought a seat for my baby just in case the bassinet is too small for my baby.  My little one (9 months old) and guess what, the bassinet is a little small for her.  We sat on the bulk head seat.  there are 3 seats in the middle and there are 2 seats which hand rail can be lifted and the other one is not allowed to do so.  So, my little one can lay and sleep on the seat.  You can check with the airline, they will tell you whether or not the hand rail can be lifted for the bulk head seat. 

Bulk head seat is good cause you have room to put your stuff there.
