there are also many other things that are important. For example, eye contact, non-verbal communication skills, etc.

My son was a late talker at age 2 and I took him for assessment twice. Both times the assessment team concluded he was fine based on his other developmental factors. Now he is almost 4, fully caught up with language and quite advanced in many other areas.
