I think this is personality issue rather than culture issue. We have some fight over the difference such as chicken feet or pig's ear, but he never says anything disrepectful such as "low class". If he did, I would have dumped him already.

If I were you, I would not go out with this guy any more.

Feel sorry for you, and I do support you for your breaking up with this guy.

No matter American or Chinese, they need to know how to repsect us, and respect the differences between people.
