A girl friend was seeing a guy who was hesitate to committ for reasons (his past and her current situation), that guy never let her spend money even she wanted to and bought decent gifts for occasions. She still let him go though.

It's not about money or gifts, it's the way of treating people...the guy in 89 sister case is terrible; everyone has control of his/her life, sister should have left early.
