I'll try to answer your questions for him. I didn't ask for his input, all these is based on my understanding of him and his letter posted above.
1.What are the typical behavior patterns of this kind of men? They focus on their work, it may not be their jobs.
2.What are the impacts to women and family, in short term and long term? Their women need to be emotionally self sufficient, in short term and long term. Don't expect them to make her as the center of their world.
3.If desirable, how to tell this kind of men apart? Get him talking. If he passionately talks about his work and interest, he is probably serious in natural.
4.What are they looking for in a woman? If they are not "vulgar", what clues do they use to tell women apart? They go with flow. They don't have a set of goals and standards.
5.I thought all American writers imitate JFK and Hemingway, or at least O'Henry. Why is his writing style so "abrasive" to me? Just curious how general audience in US responds to his writing. General audience find his scholarly and historical approach tedious. He is not a popular writer, but it doesn't make his work any less valuable. He is one of the greatest philosophical mind in today's world.
你在这上面太执着了,未必是好事。
