I don't think the clearing the plates incident is a big deal.

Depression is - my bf has the same problem but I like him enough to want to deal with it - it all depends on how much you like the guy.

But sounds like you already decided on dumping him. Fine, move on then. However I do think the letter sounds too harsh. A simple "we're not right for each other, good luck and thanks for the good times" should be fine.
