sometimes kids are snobbish too, they want a richer parent who can provide them with what they want. I know a single mom who has 3 kids from previous marriage and never remarried. she has a job as a substitute teacher and has to work another part-time job to make her ends meet. but after her ex bought the older kid a used car for college and laptops for younger kids, all the kids want to spend their holidays and summers with their dad and don't even call her during the holidays, and she was left home alone with her dog. she said all her hard work these 10 yrs can't compete with gifts...
