When I was 29, I did not know what I want as well

until my ex passed away, until my second marriage did not work, until I was almost 35. I guess most of people know about truth of their life is after they passed all kinds of "storms". Totally agree with you, life is short, just enjoy it. We can't depend on anyone making life happy but ourselves.
