The rules of dating should be fairly simple. If you ask someone out, you are paying. If you get asked out, they are paying. If, towards the end of a date, you feel that you don't want to see the person again, then offer to pay halves; a polite way of letting them know you're not interested. If you ARE interested, simply say "I'll pay next time!" Problem solved.
