As you know, most of the American families don't have much savings. Believe it or not, even some of the families live inside a golf club like 宏英 would still think 50 thousands in cash is a very large amount. For instance, if I was not working, I don't think my hu*****and would even be able to afford to give my parents $5000 for helping them to buy a house, maybe not even $1000.

I think if 梅梅 like to help her parents. Instead of blaming on her hu*****and for not being able to help her parents, she should earn those money herself, even babysitting in her spare time could help her to earn some extra income. It seems that she has been living in U.S. for a while, perhaps, she should understand the U.S. reality better.

Certainly, I understand that 梅梅 is only a character in the novel. I think you did a good job on creating her :)))
