I understand your censure about Hong’s leaving her

daughter, which action was indeed cold blooded and irresponsible. However, once she realized her mistake of her early 20s, which was totally immature and imprudent, she wanted to correct it by erasing all the connections to her past. For my view, such action is understandable. I conjecture when she reaches 40 or 50, she will regret and abhor what she had done to her daughter especially when she succeeds in her life.
