Is it a good or bad idea to have a joint account before marriage? Do you think there are any better solutions? My BF is not rich, but he has a house and he is good at managing money (I mean he doesn't buy expensive stuff and spends money carefully). He already had accounts for utilies, phone bills and cable bills. It is probably hard to divide who pays which bill now. I feel if I move in to his house, maybe I just put some money into our joint account and my expenses other than clothes and cosmetics will come from that account. How much is a proper amount of money? $1000?
