Everybody should live . . .

by a set of values and principles such as "don't do evil", "treat other people the way you want to be treated".  These values and principles define who you are as a person.  Somethings can be compromised.  But these values and principles can't be compromised.  If you do, you lose your identity.  Trust in a marriage is one of these values and principles.  Again as we Chinese say "宁为玉碎不为瓦全“。
