Closing cost is such a vague term. Different people have differ

definitions.  Some people confuse closing cost with prepay items like escrow reserve.  So make sure when you say closing cost, you know what you are referring to.

But in general, the closing costs are deductible but they have to be amortized over the life of the loan.
