Inherited Roth IRAs
- Distributions are usually tax-free if the account was held for at least five years
- Distributions may be taxed if the account was held for less than five years
- If the Roth IRA was inherited from a spouse, the beneficiary can treat it as their own
- If the Roth IRA was inherited from someone else, the beneficiary must take required minimum distributions (RMDs)
