请教8老师：关于过期的 re-entry permit 能否入境美国？

re-entry permit 过期，能否买张机票，凭绿卡进入美国？被当场遣返的几率有多大？

存侥幸心理，入境官不计前嫌大发慈悲，绿卡就又有效了，我一个朋友的父母就这么干的，当时写了一封诚恳的信给入境官，解释疫情造成的 re-entry permit 过期
