请教８老师父母移民美国的问题

尊敬的８老师，

父母有一方１０年前旅游签证来过美国，但是呆了３年多，也就是说有两年多没有合法身份。他们已在国内呆超过１０年了。如果去移民面试，会不会因为这个原因而拒签？需要补充些什么材料吗？非常感谢。
