This happened to someone else. A CBP thought that he stayed in USA illegally for many years. So the officer sent him to Canada immediately without patience.
-US and Canada have established the Entry/Exit Information System that an entry into one country is considered an exit from the other. So, when you enter Canada, US CBP also consider that you have left US.
