我姐姐2001年5月第四类亲属移民申请批准，2010年8月接到通知说排期到了，2011年1月完成材料申批，材料发往广州领事馆，等待面谈至今。

因母亲病重，姐姐和她16岁儿子申请探亲签证被批，将于下周来美。

想请问各位专家：

侄儿是否可以在美等待GREEN CARD？

-No. But if his mother gets the immigration visa to enter US (get the green card), the child can file I-485 within US to get the green card. However, the kid has to maintain his legal status until he files I-485 and it seems it is difficult.

如果可以，是否可以进入公校读书？

是否将来还要回广州面谈？

-He had better get the immigration visa with his mother in Guangzhou and then, enter US with his mother.

现在大概还要等多久才能拿到GREEN CARD？

-I think they should get their immigration visa in about 6 months.
