485 Pending is not a legal status in itself. During the I485 process, you need to stay legal without gap. Now you've lost your own H1b, therefore, you need to move to a different legal status as soon as possible. If your spouse is on H1b, then you need to file for a change of status to H4. If your spouse is a citizen, then you can wait for your green card here without a problem.

And yes, if you get Advanced Parole, you can come back: that is the whole point of Advanced Parole: to allow re-entry for I485 applicants.
