Canada Immigration Question

I am currently working in USA. I sent my canada immigration application package to buffalo. I put my friend's address, which is in USA, on the form as my mailing address. Do I still have to notify the canada visa office of my location change and work change? I know there is a risk that I am asked to attend an interview inside USA and I can't enter USA because of visa problem. Other than that, is there other risks I have to take to apply immigration in USA and wait it in China?
