Thanks a lot for your reply. My 6-year H-1B leaves me less than 2 years to go for another application. In my situation, it is quite hard to stay in the same company for any longer since the work load is quite light. But I've talked to the boss about the GC issue. He said if the company won't take much risk, there isn't much trouble to support me for the continued application. So far I'm not quite clear how much obligation the company will have for the sponsor. I've heard that if the company sponsor me for the I-140 and I-485, I have to come back to work for the company for at least one year. If this is true, I guess the company can not gurrantee the position when the time comes. It is small firm after all.

By the way, I pay the attorney for the LC not the company.
