Obviously you are much older than me, so I can only make some suggestions.

I think it is unlikely to have your degree translated to Ph.D. legally. You might want to add supporting material in your application stating that due to political circumstances, B.Sc. is the highest degree available and that you are currently teaching Ph.D. students in both China and MIT. Having MIT write your a supporting letter will be helpful as well.

Clearly, this calls for unusal means under unusual circumstances, the best way should be to contact a good lawyer and hear what he/she has to say.
