your EAD as a work permit for a job you had worked (not including applying a job). Beyond EAD did you keep/renew your H1/H4 (non-immgration status)? If NO to first question AND yes to the second question, you still have your non-immgration status. If YES to fisrt OR NO to second, you lost your non-immgration status.
