F1 and AP

I am a student and plan go back to china this summer.I have AP (485 pending). Can I go to the embassy to get a new F1 visa? I heard if I got that new visa, my 485 would be revoked automatically? If I come back with AP and my wife 485 is denied (she is H1b now), should I leave USA at once or change to H4?
