the expiration date of visa

the expiration date of the visa is different from the length of stay. How long they can stay is determined each time at the port of entry by INS officers and written on the I-94. The 1 year expiration date on the visa just indicate that they can enter the US any time before it expires. They can even come on the last date the visa is valid and how long they can stay will be determined then.
