I am holding H1-B visa now. I filed I-485 with my ex and the case got approved recently. Because my case is based on marriage and we divorced while waiting for the approval of I-485, should I go to local INS office and get the greencard? The interview is waived. But I need to have finger-print taken.
I consulted lawyers, but did not get consistent answers. Someone said it is OK, and just have my passport stampped.
Someone said it may be a problem in the future because my greencard is based on marriage which is no longer valid.
Please share your invaluable views and insigths.
THANKS ALOT.
