Your background is a very good fit to NIW application.

It will be definitely great if you can show the Immigration Officers that your qualifications are oberviously stronger than available Americans'.

Also, try to explain that the US society can benefit a lot from your research work and your expertise if you become a US permanent resident sooner. It would take you too much time to go LC produre, so it's not in the national interest.
