To 我见: F1--》H4?

HI, my OPT is expiring. Do you think it's good to change to H4? How long will the process take? Do I need to leave US? Can I DIY (hate lawyer)? Does H4 affect looking for job i.e. changing to H1 if I find a job later?

All advice are welcome. I'm really n trouble keeping status
