H1B supposed to be an immigration visa. I remember when applying for a H1B visa in Beijing for returning back to US last time, one of the questions on the application form was "If you are applying for immigration status". Since I am applying for GC, I checked Yes. And I don't think the Office who interviewed me paid any attention to that part.
