my son 485 was approved

Actually I was confused too. I had H1 with my first employer (university) for only few months, then transfered to another university for one and half years. However, I was told by the ISO officer that my son don't have to transfer his H4 as long as his H4 doesn't expire and my H1 is active. He is still in old H4. After that, I transfered to another university. At the time, my 140 lawyer told me that my son was out of situation. However, he suggested me to file his H4 with my H1 transfer and both were approved. The ISO officer told me that in this case my son H4 doesn't have to transfer with me as long as H4 is active. About six months later my 140 was approved and I decided to use EAD to work in a company. My H4 transfered with my wife's H1 and H4 was approved again.
last dec, our 485 was approved. In my case, it is fine.
