it is hard to get a driver's licence in China. It will take you at least two months. Since US and China use different frequnces you have to buy a handy which has two or three bands(mine is L2000 motorola, really old one). The cost of text message is RMB 2.00 one message. The costs of calls are vary on different plans. from RMB 0.2 - 0.6/min. But remember when you are not in the place where you get the number, you have to pay the roamming fee and the long distance fee for someone calling you. especially when you are in US.(RMB 10.00/MIN)
