lawyer question

Sign a contract with a lawyer for NIW. Already paid first step money half month ago. After it got my contract, it became very bad. Already call three times, haven't got start kit! Does anyone stop contract before? Like we buy sth. from supermarket, we can return within some time.
My lesson is I didn't ask lawyer to write more detail about his duty. It's very hard to find a good lawyer. Many thanks for any suggestions.
