I was in almost same condition as you. The only difference was that I did not take grace period. I went back China before my OPT expired. I got my H4 visa from Shanghai without any problem. I think H4 visa is among one of the easiest to get. My hu*****and never went back after he changed his status to H1. I think as long as you can prove your marriage is true and your hu*****and is in good H1 status, there is no reason for you to get rejected. But who knows, there is always risk. You need to take that risk.
