alomost impossible for you to get a private passport here. And consulate will give you an one way travel document for going back to china, which is an entry only document, you can not use that document to go anywhere else.

If you have HU KOU in China, the only thing you can do is going back to china and applying a new passport. This can be done. I did this in Shanghai, no problem at all.
