fingerprintquestion-need help

We receive the finger print notice from the vermont center (140/485 pending), the problem is my wife and I are not living the same states, she is a graduate student in another state and she can not be here on the scheduled date. (I am the petitioner for the application). Can we do the finger print at different INS office? My lawyer don't know the answer and she suggest maybe we should reschedule the date, or I do first and my wife do it later during her summer vacation.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!
