For the immigration to Canada

Hey,
Guys,
I am almost done with my application material and will soon mail them out. I have some questions:
First, did you make a checklist by yourself or just use the checklist they provide on the cic website.

Secondly, the university I attended in USA doesnot send official transcript to the student directly, Should I ask them to send it directly to Buffalo? will that by risky? I have no idea how efficiently the immigration officers can handle this over there.
