OPT and NIW

My OPT will expire less than 6 months. My hu*****and (H1B) will submit NIW (I-140 and I-485 at same time) soon. If I don't find an employer and change my OPT to H1B soon, do I have to change my visa to H4? Or I don't need to change my visa if he submits his NIW (I-485 incl. me)?
