I-94 expiration date with AP

I came back to US with AP (I485-pending)and found out that I -94 expiration date is only for one year.I called my lawyer and he said it does not matter and INS officer made a mistake. but no way to correct it.
Any one has similar experience and how to correct it if it is wrong???
