FBI name check issue

I applied for adjustment of status(i-485) based on marriage in Aug2002 in
Vermont Center. My first fingerprint were taken in MD on 11/8/2002 and last
fingerprint were done in VA in Jan 2004.I had an interview in DC CIS on
10/13/2004, during the interview i was told that my name check hasn't completed
yet. Are there any ways to check if CIS ever sent in name check inquiry to FBI
and to move the case faster? Your answer would be truly appreciated.
