if you're EB I-485 approvled..

you can apply for Follow-to-Join for your spouse.

Besides filing I-824 and waiting for its approval (usually take 10-12 months), you can also send notarized documents to US consulate in Guangzhou directly, and start your background checking.

After your background is approved -either way, you may request Packet 3 for your spouse.

Notarized documents:
1. I-797 - Approval notice of I-485
2. Copy of I-551 passport stampe or plastic greedcard
3. Copy of every page in your passport
4. Copy of Marriage Certificate
5. Copy of I-824 Receipt Notice
6. Copy of original I-485 form

You can also enclose your spouse's doc:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Copy of every page in his/her passport
3. Copy of Citizenship Card

If your I-485 approved based on EB (1,2,3), and you're married before I-140 approved, your spouse will be qualified for "Follow-to-Join" immigration application, usually take much shorter time than general family-immigration application.
