before H1 is settled down? What you did is just to put you into a risky situation. Anyway just cross your fingers for good luck to have H4 approved. If F1 was canceled after you got the receipt of H4 application, you have a pending status. When H4 is rejected you will be out of status. Most people understand the importance of getting a new status to override the old status and never get the old status canceled before you get a new one. Probably it is yourself fault to have F1 canceled.
