I am going through the process with BUNAC,an organisation that helps students from the UK to go to the US for summer work experience.They said to me that I stand for a reasonably good chance to get the J-1 visa even without myself being offered a job before apply. I was half sure about what they said so I have raised the questions here. Thanks for your replies.
