Thanks for the help. Just a question:
1) when you traveled using AP, was your I-140 approved?

I think using AP with I-140 approved is much less risk even one returns with AOS. Thanks again for the help. I have an emergency in China.

To others, questions:
Can one still maintain H1B using AP to enter US with both I-140 and I-485 are pending? Just have H1B I-94 (receipt), but no visa stamp.
