Questions on H-1B transfer?

I am in H-1B and would like to change my job. My new employer (a small company) is planning to file an H-1B transfer for me. My question is: if the new H-1B application (transfer) is denied, is my current H-1B still valid? Or will this have any effect on my current H-1B? Thanks.
